NOMISMA.ORG – DARIAH.EU DIGITAL NUMISMATICS WORKING GROUP MEETING
New Developments in Greek Digital Numismatics
The Nomisma.org community is taking advantage of the CAA (Computer Applications in Archaeology) conference being held in Athens in early May to organise a side meeting on digital numismatics, which will be hosted by the École française d’Athènes.
This event provides an opportunity to present the Nomisma project and the resources it supports. For those unfamiliar with Nomisma, it can be described as a system designed to enable interoperability among various numismatic databases. It forms the technological foundation for platforms such as Online Coins of the Roman Empire ,the ARCH portal and its associated resources for Greek coinage.
The aim of this meeting is also to open a broader discussion on how to further develop initiatives in Greek numismatics and foster stronger collaboration with colleagues based in Greece.
The morning session will be dedicated to presentations by existing projects. In the afternoon, the focus will shift to exploring future collaborative prospects, with the intention of launching new projects or enhancing existing ones.
