    Patras, MIKRI PERIMETRIKI ODOS. Anastasia Koumousi (6th ???) reports on the discovery of Byzantine architectural remains belonging to two building phases (Fig. 1). The first consisted of successive courses of roughly worked blocks of medium size, broken tiles and bricks horizontally and vertically placed. The second phase included roughly made walls, in which the torso of an earlier statue had been incorporated. Based on coins and other finds it was attributed to the Middle Byzantine (10-12th centuries AD), while its function remains uncertain. In later years the area was used as a cemetery.
